Winter hiking for the soul
Hiking is harmony for body, mind and soul and often expresses pure joy of life in the hiker.
The tranquillity of the mountains, the intact nature and the rhythmic and steady movements let you reach a kind of meditative state that has a positive effect on the entire organism. In addition, sport releases endorphins and makes you happy.
Winter hiking trails on the Kristberg
We recommend the following 12 winter hiking trails through the magnificent alpine landscape of Vorarlberg to our guests at Kristberg:
Winter hiking trail R1 - Hiking to the snow-covered high moor "Wildried".
The Kristberg cable car takes you from 889 m to 1,450 m in about 5 minutes. The view from here is unique.
Now keep to the right and hike along the panoramic trail to the snow-covered "Wildried" high moor. Where in summer there is a large high moor at 1,562 m, in winter there is a large white plain where cross-country skiers make a large loop and hikers can enjoy the silence, the fresh clear air and the magnificent view in peace. The way back is the same.
(Length 10 km there and back, walking time approx. 2.5 hours).
Once you have reached the Kristberg, a stop at the Panoramagasthof Kristberg or the Knappastoba is recommended. The legendary mountain chapel of St. Agatha is also worth a visit.
Winter hiking trail R2
The starting point of this winter hiking trail is the mountain station of the Montafon Kristberg cable car, where you can take the high trail past Totenbühel and Falba to Gasthaus Mühle in Innerberg.
